Action and Ideas. Join Movement Mondays at Solidarity Hall

Welcome to the Freedom Socialist Party's Movement Mondays, twice monthly meet-ups to keep inspired, prepared, and effective for the challenges ahead.

August 14, 7pm: Build Rent Control, Stop Gentrification

Extreme rent increases, bloated housing prices, new posh art galleries, hotels and high priced coffee shops threaten to displace residents and cultural traditions. The battles against turning LA's Crenshaw and Boyle Heights communities into profit-making playgrounds for the rich are in full swing. Leading the fight are longtime working class Black and Latina/o residents who are being forced out of their homes and small businesses. What can be done to support anti-gentrification efforts in Boyle Heights, the Crenshaw Community and elsewhere? How can strong, universal rent control be won?

Come and share your ideas and experiences as we look for solutions and decide on actions we can take together.
