February 2008: Union-busting raid
Service Employees International Union attempts raid on militant teachers of the Federaci—n de Maestros de Puerto Rico. The aim is to bust their strike against privatization and terrible wages and working conditions.


February 2008: Smithfield Foods
Infamous anti-union company files multi-million dollar racketeering suit against United Food and Commercial Workers and others, in attack on free speech in unionization drive. Union motion to dismiss the case denied.


Ongoing: United Auto Workers
American Axle strikers hang tough against drastic concessions already forced on Big Three employees. Strike shuts down GM production in North America. Other UAW members stand strong in support of the strikers.
